All Central Aid Agency Rated personnel are issued a rank immediately upon being sworn in. Ranks are used to clearly designate the chain of command and seniority. Promotions can be awarded by earning enough Service Points, and through merit. Demotions are generally only done because of discipline or reassignment. C.A.A. ranks are categorized into Rank Levels, each designated by a distinct color. Pips are used to display where within a Rank Level a specific rank resides. Each rank also has the Rank Name and Symbol displayed on the badge. The Rank System is designated by color on the top and bottom margins of the badge: Standard Rank is white; Air Operations Rank is dark red. The Rank System is closely related to the Levels of Rating.
