Central Aid Agency personnel are required to wear uniforms for a variety of reasons including personal safety, to provide a uniform professional image when representing the agency, and to ensure all personnel have the same base level of equipment necessary to carry out their mission. When new members join the Central Aid Agency they must pay for their first set of basic Class D uniform T-shirts and chest insignia. Beyond that, uniforms and equipment that are required for a Primary Duty Assignment are either issued for free (remaining the property of the C.A.A. and must be returned if the person leaves C.A.A. service); issued through agency reimbursement; are purchased using Service Points or pay stipend; or purchased by the person from the agency, depending on the specific role and assignment. Personnel may also elect to purchase their own uniforms and equipment as long as they meet or exceed the standards and regulations related to construction and appearance, this is also required for all Additional Duty Assignments. Personally purchased equipment does not have to be returned if someone leaves C.A.A. service, but can be donated or sold back if still in serviceable condition.
Uniforms come in a variety of types and colors based on the requirement of the role or unit. All uniforms are categorized based on Class (formalness) of the uniform and color. Some units have customized uniform colors to better represent what they do. All uniform colors, including any variants, are based on 7 basic types. Grades are used to determine wear on uniforms and equipment and whether or not they can continue to be used or must be replaced. What uniforms a unit wears varies and is listed with the other information pertaining to the unit.
