Special Operations

Special Operations Emblem

Special Operations is a Primary Command whose mission is to to gather, process, and disseminate information and intelligence; provide and coordinate situational awareness and counterintelligence; and provide service and operational capability for difficult, unique, sensitive, or highly specialized situations; in support of C.A.A. operations and overall agency function.

SO-Team 1

Special Operations Team 1 is an intelligence unit that provides situational awareness and operational intelligence in the area of District 1, and is based out of Sector 2.  The unit is currently assigned as an element of Emergency Response Force 1 and all personnel are cross-trained in emergency response.  The unit can be deployed as conventional emergency responders when not needed for situational awareness. 

Uniforms of Special Operations

​Special Operations primarily wears uniforms in Navy Blue (Color Type 1) and Black (Color Type 7).  Personnel embedded in other units typically wear the uniform of the unit they are assigned to.  Uniforms commonly worn by Special Operations include:

Service Dress Uniform Class A

Service Dress Uniform Class B

Responder Garrison Uniform Class C

Responder Utility Uniform / Basic Duty Uniform Class C

Administrative Uniform Class C

Field Basic Service Uniform Class E (When participating in Community Service activities)

Physical Training Uniform Class E

Because Special Operations units are deployable, but do not usually have to wear respirators; they typically require Type 3 or greater hygiene and appearance requirements when in full uniform.  Though personnel embedded in other units (like ERF 1) typically must follow the hygiene requirements of their assigned parent unit.
